GreenPrint Logo

GreenPrint, an Atlanta-based environmental technology company, helps companies build and market sustainability programs. After experiencing exponential growth in 2019, the company rebranded to reflect its global reach and expanded environmental solutions, and I had the opportunity to redesign their logo.

PROJECT DETAILS

During the rebrand process, I had multiple conversations with the management team about how to show that GreenPrint places itself at the intersection of sustainability and business. I learned then that the original concept behind the company’s pulled “green” for sustainability and “print” from blueprint.

I used mood boards and Venn diagrams to determine possibilities before sketching, exploring how organic shapes and patterns could be organized in a precise structure. The most specific guidance I received from management was to use GreenPrint’s trademarked double-leaf that appears in most of the company’s program logos.

Process

I used the sketching process to play with repeating lines, calling back to the blueprint concept and thumbprint of the previous logo. Sketching resulted in several versions with varying levels of visual density.

Of the final options presented to the CEO and management team, the logo chosen stood out with its simplicity. They felt it brought elegance to a complex business model and emphasized the company’s openness. The leaf now represents the purpose at the center of GreenPrint’s business, and the unfinished circle signifies the ongoing effort to do right by the environment.
